Diamond League Final!🇯🇲💎Will Shericka Jackson break the WR in the 200m?

After 13 meetings spanning from May to September, the stage is now set for the pinnacle of the 2023 Wanda Diamond League season at the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene, Oregon, scheduled for this weekend, Saturday and Sunday.

This prestigious event will witness the participation of standout sprinter Shericka Jackson alongside 17 other Jamaican athletes. These elite competitors will gather at the iconic Hayward Field, driven by the determination to conclude their seasons on a triumphant note.

In the 32 thrilling final competitions, athletes will have the opportunity to vie for the prestigious Diamond trophies and a share of top prizes totaling a staggering $30,000.

The action kicks off on Saturday with the first 15 finals, followed by the remaining 17 on Sunday. Fourteen of these Sunday finals will feature newly crowned world champions.

While the majority of athletes earned their spots in the finals by accumulating points at the 13 series meetings, others have received invitations as national or global wild cards.

Notably, Shericka Jackson has made her aspirations clear: she’s aiming for the world 200m record of 21.34, set by Florence Griffith-Joyner in 1988. Now, in 2023, she has one more significant opportunity to chase that record on the grand stage. Will she break the World Record? Tell us your predictions!
